*Experience with skincare/cosmetic packaging and raw material purchasing experience highly desirable*
The Purchasing/Planner is responsible for defining and maintaining a proper inventory level to balance valuation with customer lead-time requirements. The purchasing and planning must be data-driven and detail-oriented, using various software to monitor and manage demand and inventory to ensure orders are fulfilled on time and in full. Proactive communication with customers, brands, warehouses, procurement, compounding, etc., is essential to align expectations and optimize performance. In addition, this individual handles routine and ad hoc purchasing needs, vendor reporting, and other administrative tasks as defined by the Head of Operations and Manufacturing.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Purchases goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures, including but not limited to raw materials and packaging components.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume, cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Ensure purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Monitoring and reacting to demand for all products
- Establishing and managing inventory levels to ensure full fulfillment
- Creating and managing the plan for bulk compounding, filling, and assembly
- Directing and managing the filling team to execute the plan
- Communicating, coordinating, and managing all freight shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Establish, monitor, and adjust as needed finished good inventory levels and replenishment parameters to support all business.
- Create and manage the daily production plan for bulk compounding, filling and assembly.
- Monitor customer demand via SPS Commerce, Shopify, Amazon and any other software/portals and communicate proactively if/when there is a risk of out of stock/late.
- Create and update SOP's and other documents as required
- Proactively and professionally communicate with all customers and teammates to facilitate clear expectations and efficient completion of work.
- Support the design and implementation of our new ERP system.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Experience with skincare/cosmetic packaging and raw material purchasing is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Experience leading and participating in projects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience using ERP systems is very helpful
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in material management, inventory control, purchasing or supply chain.
- Experience using ERP systems and 2 years of planning experience in a manufacturing operation
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
- May require travel.
