Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Bilingual Spanish Cosmetology Instructor at Christine Valmy's Wayne, NJ, location. The Cosmetology Instructor will teach cosmetology courses, provide hair care and customer service training, and ensure students receive a comprehensive and high-quality education. The instructor will also develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and stay current with industry trends and techniques.
Qualifications
- Licensed Cosmetologist and/or Cosmetology Instructor certification.
- Cosmetology and Hair Care Experience
- Develop and deliver an engaging, hands-on school curriculum.
- Instruct students in both theoretical and practical aspects of all areas of beauty.
- Demonstrate and teach proper techniques, such as cutting, styling, shaving, and grooming.
- Ensure a safe and sanitary learning environment.
- Stay current with industry trends and advancements to incorporate into teaching.
- Guide students during hands-on learning experiences, including hair styling, cutting, coloring, skincare, and other cosmetology techniques. Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Prepare instruction that reflects appropriate learning objectives.
- Create and adapt instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of students while adhering to curriculum guidelines.
- Assess student progress through tests, quizzes, practical exams, and observations, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Ensure the learning environment, including the student salon, is clean, safe, and conducive to learning. Maintain equipment and supplies.
- Fluency in both English and Spanish.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
