Job description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Compounder is responsible for accurately weighing, blending, and processing skin care products in accordance with established formulas and procedures. This role requires strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), meticulous record-keeping, and active participation in raw material management and quality control processes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Batch Production
Accurately weigh, process, and produce bulk batches of skin care products strictly following approved formulas and manufacturing procedures.
Maintain detailed and accurate batch sheets by recording all relevant production data in the cloud-based system throughout the batching process.
Complete, print, and save all batch records upon the completion of each production run.
Dispense and prepare batches for the following day's production schedule.
Raw Material Management
Receive incoming raw materials and validate weights and quantities against accompanying documentation (packing slips, certificates of analysis, purchase orders, etc.).
Record all incoming raw material details accurately in the cloud-based inventory management system.
Collect and submit raw material samples for testing and approval.
Shelve and store raw materials after QC approval has been granted.
Maintain a live and accurate raw material inventory sheet, updated daily to reflect materials consumed during batching and newly received stock ensuring inventory reflects real-time quantities at all times.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance
Wash and sanitize all utensils, kettles, and equipment used during production batches following each use.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work area at all times in compliance with GMP and facility standards.
Compliance & Personal Hygiene
Adhere to all company personal hygiene policies, including proper protective equipment (PPE), hand washing protocols, and grooming standards as required in a cosmetic manufacturing environment.
Follow all safety, regulatory, and quality guidelines applicable to skin care product manufacturing.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a relevant field (chemistry, cosmetics, or science) is an asset.
Previous experience in cosmetic or chemical manufacturing is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in measurement and documentation.
Ability to follow written formulas, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and batch instructions precisely.
Comfortable working with cloud-based inventory and batch recording systems.
Good organizational and time management skills to manage daily production and inventory tasks.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Basic math skills for weighing and scaling batch quantities.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standing for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.
Exposure to cosmetic raw materials, fragrances, and chemical compounds.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including gloves, safety glasses, and lab coat as required.
Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, and handling containers of raw materials.
